Worth knowing before you go
- Book ahead: Feeding sessions for lorikeets, pelicans and starlings sell out days ahead and cannot be bought on the day — they are pre-booked via the Mandai website or app.
- Best time: Birds are most active and visible in the morning; by midday many retreat into dense foliage, making sightings in the large aviaries more hit-or-miss.
- Best time: The two free daily shows at the Sky Amphitheatre need no booking, but seats fill up, so arriving a little before showtime secures a good spot.
- On foot: The park covers roughly 5 km of ramps, elevated walkways and some steep sections; a free internal shuttle connects the two main stations for those who need it.
- Cost: On-site food court dishes run around SGD 14–15 each, and sit-down restaurants charge SGD 58++ per person — well above typical Singapore food court prices.
- Rules: Children's swimwear and a towel are worth packing if little ones are along — the Egg Splash water play area is inside the park and very popular with kids.
- Facilities: No physical maps are handed out at entry; the Mandai app has the live park map and daily show schedules, so downloading it before arrival keeps navigation straightforward.
- Facilities: Free water refill stations are dotted throughout the park; a refillable bottle, sunscreen and a cap or umbrella make the exposed outdoor sections much more comfortable.
